No Escape

No Escape? An Investigation into London's Service Provision for Women Involved in the Commercial Sex Industry (March 2006)
This study investigates the needs of women involved in the commercial sex industry by exploring the work of over 200 projects working with women who sell sex in London. The information given shows clear gaps in service provision and highlights areas where improved and appropriately targeted services would increase safety for those currently involved in the sex industry and enable increasing numbers of women to exit.

Sex in the City

Sex in the City: Mapping Commercial Sex Across London (August 2004)
In the first study of its kind, this research captures a ‘snap-shot’ of the London off-street sex industry, looking at where men buy sex and the women they buy it from.  This highly illuminating piece of research also uncovers possible links between lapdancing, prostitution and trafficking.

Rape and sexual assault

Just representation

Just Representation? Press Reporting and the Reality of Rape (February 2008)
Using a random sample of media reports, this study considers the reporting of rape in the UK. A must-read for media professionals and feminists alike, this report identifies a press construction of rape which is contrary to research and crime statistics and which impacts on public perceptions of rape, reporting and conviction rates for sexual offences.

Rape convictions in London (2006)
The conviction rate for rape and other sexual offences currently stands at less than 6%. The Lilith Project report Rape Convictions in London looks at the reasons behind persistently low conviction rates and analyses actual custodial sentencing in London courts. The report also discusses media representation of rape trials, stereotyping and the prevalence of ‘rape myths’ through a sample analysis of media coverage.
