Support and networking for agencies
Kalabash
The Kalabash Forum is run by the Lilith Project. It is a networking initiative of around 55 organisations that have a remit to support Black Minority Ethnic (BME) women and girls who have experienced any form of gendered violence. Members include therapeutic counselling services, supported housing providers and advocacy services.
It is aimed at organisations based in London, but it is also open to national members.
The group is co-ordinated by the Lilith Project New Initiatives Officer and funded by London Councils.
How does the network operate and what are the benefits of joining?
Quarterly meetings: The group meets on a quarterly basis to share and develop best practice for working with BME women and therefore enhance service delivery for service users; as well as discuss key areas such as accessing funding and new legislation.
Joining Kalabash helps to build links between diverse women’s organisations, enabling a comprehensive understanding of the issues affecting BME organisations and service users.
Can I join the Kalabash Forum?
If your organisation works with BME women/girls that have experienced any form of gendered violence, and you can attend informal meetings on a quarterly basis, please email lilith@eaveshousing.co.uk
